PepsiCo, Winterthur and Con-way Receive 2007 TIBCO Leadership Awards

Exemplary SOA, BPM and CEP Deployments Honored
TUCON(TM), SAN FRANCISCO, May 2 / -- TIBCO Software Inc. today announced that its customers PepsiCo, Winterthur and Con-way have been selected as winners of the 2007 TIBCO Leadership Awards. These prestigious awards honor exemplary IT professionals and organizations that go above and beyond the status quo to advance technology innovation.

Master Builder of the Year: PepsiCo
TIBCO honored PepsiCo with 'Master Builder of the Year' for its Project OneUp. This award recognizes an organization that displays an exemplary use of TIBCO's software in building an architectural foundation to drive a demonstrable difference by orchestrating business inoutcomes.
PepsiCo's Project OneUP/WATS/OS2Exit sought to replace roughly 60 percent of its aging, inflexible legacy systems installed at Frito Lay, Quaker Oats, Tropicana and Pepsi. The project's new business goals require re-architecting multiple applications, while preserving smooth business operations, and the integration of 17,000 new handheld devices for increased efficiency and automation in the field. Leveraging TIBCO's SOA software, PepsiCo is working to seamlessly deploy new applications and deliver a reliable and scalable way of distributing information and business transactions across all four of its divisions.
Innovator of the Year: Con-way Transportation Services
Con-way, a fast-paced multi-channel transportation company, was awarded 'Innovator of the Year' for its Event-Driven Enterprise project. This award recognizes an organization that is breaking new ground leveraging TIBCO software. As a result, the company is able to deliver superior business value to solve business hurdles that once appeared insurmountable via traditional techniques.
Con-way's Event-Driven Enterprise project sought to differentiate the company through increased agility and responsiveness. Con-way needed to eliminate latency in the flow of information across all areas of its business. Leveraging TIBCO complex event processing software (CEP), the company can rapidly deliver new functionality and effectively capitalize on opportunities as they arise. In addition, Con-way now has a reliable mechanism to make enterprise events immediately available, empowering its transportation planners and dispatchers with real-time, 100% accurate operational data.
Value Creator of the Year: Winterthur Group
Finally, Winterthur Group, the leading insurance company in Switzerland and one of the top-ten composite insurers in Europe, received TIBCO's 'Value Creator of the Year' award for its Electronic Document Archiving and Retrieval System (eDarts) project. This award recognizes an organization that has measurably shown the most dramatic value and impact of technology on increasing business efficiencies, cost savings and top-line performance growth using TIBCO's software.
Winterthur Group's eDarts project used TIBCO BPM software to implement an electronic archive system that automated and accelerated its internal procedures. This enabled the company to focus on increasing staff productivity, which improved customer service and translated into extensive cost savings.

A panel of third-party industry experts including Michael Friedenberg, president and CEO of CIO Magazine; Scott Vaughan, publisher of CMP Media; and Ken Vollmer, principal analyst for Forrester Research scored each entry and selected the most innovative approaches to solving business challenges with TIBCO technology.
