PeopleNet Signed Record Number of New Customer Fleets in 2006

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - March 26: PeopleNet, the industry-leading provider of profit-driving mobile communications and onboard computing to the trucking industry, today reported that it signed 197 new fleet customers during 2006, a record for the company

According to Ron Konezny, PeopleNet's chief operating officer, revenue increased by over 30% in 2006, maintaining the company's position as the fastest growing provider of intelligent onboard communications and fleet management solutions in North America.

PeopleNet's 31% revenue increase during 2006 was attributable entirely to the growth of its existing customers and the addition of 197 new customers. New customers include O'Reilly Auto Parts, Pratt Industries, Hawkeye LLC, Modern Transportation Services, and Mission Petroleum.

"Sustained, excellent growth during 2006 reflects more than our continuing effort to provide the most capable, most efficient, most economic onboard system in the industry. It is a measure of our people, their creativity and the around-the-clock service we provide. It also reflects the growing reputation PeopleNet has earned among its customers and the transportation industry at large," Konezny said.

PeopleNet experienced growth in multiple trucking segments, reflecting the diversity of use for the highly configurable and capable g3 system. Approximately 50% of new business came from for-hire fleets, and 50% from private fleets. New fleets were distributed across dry van, tanker, refrigerated, flat-bed, dedicated, LTL and specialty carriers. Nearly a third of new units signed converted from older, first generation onboard computing or mobile communications systems.

PacTrac, the PeopleNet and PacLease joint solution offering, also attracted solid market interest adding more than 30 new customers to the base.

During 2006, PeopleNet announced a number of technology enhancements and business advances, including the launch of the g3 Services Application, which enables customers and business partners to access PeopleNet onboard resources through a standard serial or USB port. That opens the PeopleNet system to integration with virtually any 3rd party solution -- a particular benefit for specialized fleets.

PeopleNet also announced the development to update its eDriver Logs application to deal with complex new hours of service rules in Canada, and premiered a number of technology upgrades. The company also announced new business partnerships and expansions of existing ones - for example, LandSonar for driver speed monitoring through a product called SpeedGauge and Permi-Tax for Canadian Fuel Tax automation.

"We listen carefully to our customers to develop enhancements that meet and anticipate actual customer needs. We partner with other proven technology leaders to provide optimum return on a customer's overall technology investment. 2006 was a great year for us. We look forward to an even more exciting 2007," said Konezny.
