Paul Fandel Promoted to Engineering Manager at Aerovox Corp.

Plans On Continuing the Company’s Focus on Innovation 

New Bedford, MA (May 14, 2018) Aerovox Corp., a worldwide market leader in film capacitors, is pleased to announce Paul M. Fandel has been promoted to Manager of Engineering. Paul has worked at Aerovox for the past five years as a design engineer, supervising engineers and providing clients with custom solutions to their capacitor needs. Paul has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

Among Paul’s goals in his new position is continuing the company’s focus on innovation. The push towards smaller electrical and electronic devices means capacitors too, must be smaller and lighter with the same or better energy density than earlier designs. For example, Aerovox defibrillator capacitors deliver more energy using less space than competitive capacitors.

Additionally, Paul plans on increasing knowledge-sharing throughout the company to help Aerovox staff assess client needs quickly and bring products to market faster and less expensively. Meeting customer requirements without overengineering can be challenging, but it is key to creating capacitors which perform to spec and are priced well. Paul also intends to leverage Aerovox’s R&D laboratory to help advance the company’s capacitor engineering and design capability.
