Open House Scheduled for New Gearbox Repair and Remanufacturing Facility in Salt Lake City
Open house scheduled for April 19-21
Milwaukee - March 30, 2011 - Rexnord Industries has opened a new, 29,000 sq. ft. gearbox repair and remanufacturing facility in Salt Lake City to serve key customers in area industries, including mining, coal, cement, aggregates and power generation.
The facility is part of Rexnord's Falk(TM) RENEW® Prager® product services, which repairs or rebuilds gearboxes of all makes, brands and sizes. Rexnord's gearbox repair services offer customers cost-effective solutions when minimizing downtime is critical and long-term reliability and peace of mind are essential.
"There isn't another facility like this in the Salt Lake City area," said Mike Stofferahn, vice president, Rexnord product services - sales and marketing. "On top of that, we have world-class, defined processes in place. Our services not only extend drive life, but also enhance operating performance and lower the total cost of ownership for our customers."
In the mining industry, gearboxes and other power transmission products play a critical role in facility output, productivity and profit generation. Rexnord's new repair facility is in the center of an 800-mile radius of large area mines, including coal, copper, gold, silver, as well as other cement and aggregate operations.
Rexnord's Salt Lake City operation has the capability to lift 50,000-pound gearboxes, which are some of the largest, heavy-duty gearboxes used in the industry. The location also performs disassembly and a full inspection of the drive's housing and rotating elements. Complete gearbox rebuilds are available, in addition to reverse engineering and custom unit capabilities.

The facility operates with fully authorized and trained Rexnord technicians and field support personnel who have a combined experience of more than 75 years. Technicians are available upon request for onsite repairs and troubleshooting.
To introduce the new facility to the Salt Lake City area, Rexnord will hold a three-day open house on April 19-21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Media personnel are welcome to attend any day. Visitors will be able to tour the facility and learn more about day-to-day operations. All attendees will have the opportunity to win a Richard Petty Driving Experience, which gives thrill-seekers the opportunity to ride or drive a NASCAR race car.
The Salt Lake City facility, located at 1930 S. 4650 W., joins additional RENEW locations near Milwaukee and New Orleans.
