New Wonderware Performance Management Software Offerings Designed to Ease Manufacturing Collaboration

Wonderware Information Server 3.0, Historian 9.0 and ActiveFactory 9.2 Software Leverage Microsoft Office 2007, SharePoint Services and SQL Server Reporting Services

ORLANDO, Fla., ARC Annual Forum, Feb. 13, 2007 -- Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys, today announced the release of three new software offerings that work together seamlessly with the latest Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft SQL Server reporting services. These software applications are designed to make the collaboration of plant-production and performance information faster and easier than ever before.

The offerings provide enhanced features to address the expanding needs of manufacturers and other industrial operations -- including complete data archiving, reporting and analysis. The overall software solution supports today's collaborative approaches to improving operational performance.

"These new software offerings make for fast and easy incremental additions to existing system investments," said Mark Davidson, Wonderware's vice president of global marketing. "They include intuitive tools that empower people by providing timely information to help them achieve operational excellence. Wonderware offers a wide range of functional capabilities and price scalability to suit the smallest to the largest customer operations."

The Wonderware Information Server 3.0, formerly known as SuiteVoyager software, is a Web-content server for all Wonderware graphics, reporting and analysis applications. Offering integration with Microsoft Office 2007, the Wonderware Information Server 3.0 provides a broad set of collaboration capabilities and the ability to use virtually any integrated real-time data source or SQL database. The application works as a stand-alone server or in conjunction with customers' existing IT portal environments, such as a Microsoft Office or SharePoint server, or a MySAP portal. The Wonderware Information Server software is built on top of Microsoft's SharePoint services and Microsoft SQL Server reporting services technologies.

This new Wonderware software offering provides greatly simplified report building, user-specified Web parts and information collaboration across multiple knowledge workers -- without the need for IT or SQL skills. Basic and advanced client-access licenses are available for concurrent users, named users and named devices to best suit the information-sharing needs of a wide range of network-connected and mobile users.

The new Wonderware Historian 9.0 software license bundle combines the power and flexibility of one of the world's most popular plant historians, Wonderware's IndustrialSQL Server 9.0 historian, and is bundled with the new Wonderware Information Server's capabilities for Web-based collaboration.

The Wonderware Historian software includes advanced data storage, filtering or compression, and multiple retrieval modes. It also offers on-the-fly data aggregations that are highly performance-optimized for the most demanding real-time applications in addition to ease of administration and low cost of ownership. The Wonderware Historian software uses patented, high-speed data storage and retrieval mechanisms, while simultaneously providing information access using standard Microsoft SQL Server information tools and access mechanisms.

Wonderware's ActiveFactory 9.2 software provides comprehensive trending, analysis and integration with Microsoft Office information. Version 9.2 adds advanced X-Y regions and plots to aid in uncovering cause-and-effect relationships across manufacturing processes and performance metrics. ActiveFactory 9.2 software also supports Microsoft Office 2007 and provides a powerful toolset for integration with XML and Microsoft's Word, Excel spreadsheet software and InfoPath information-gathering program. This integration results in fast, familiar approaches to delivering manufacturing intelligence.

"People with different roles in the organization need to rapidly collaborate using different views of information," said Chris Colyer, Microsoft's global industry director, manufacturing operation strategy. "As one of the original ISV partners of Microsoft in the manufacturing space, Wonderware has built its business on leveraging Microsoft technologies to continually raise the bar for 'ease of use' in real-time decision-making."
