New Emergency Delivery Service Launched by Weed Instrument

May 1, 2006

A new emergency delivery service for selected RTDs, thermocouples, thermowells and temperature transmitters has been announced by Weed Instrument of Round Rock, Texas.
The recently launched QuickShip program was formulated in response to Voice of Customer (VOC) requests collected from a broad range of industries, recognizing that there is often an immediate need for temperature sensors or assemblies to resolve an emergency shutdown situation.

When QuickShip is specified, if the order is received and entered by 1:30PM (Central), it will ship the following day. Orders received earlier in the day will often ship on the same day, depending on the model selected. According to Simon Appleby, President of Weed Instrument, "The goal of QuickShip is to ensure that the products ship on average within a maximum 24 hour period, helping to provide our customers with peace of mind in challenging situations."

Weed Instrument Co., which was formed in 1968, is one of the world's leading suppliers of temperature sensors and transmitters for the process, biopharmaceutical, power generation and aerospace industries. In addition, the company manufactures nuclear-qualified instrumentation for nuclear power plants and fiber optic converters for industrial automation systems.
