New Consultant Resource Catalog Helps the Water and Wastewater Industry Specify Automation Solutions Quickly and Easily

Digital selection tools and product information save time and money when writing procurement specifications

MILWAUKEE, Oct. 19, 2009 - Rockwell Automation announced a new resource tool to help water and wastewater consulting engineers to specify automation and control products and solutions more easily. The Water and Wastewater Consultant Resource Catalog (CRC) helps reduce engineering time and costs for the consultant by providing the information and tools to help make the right product decisions and produce professional project procurement specifications. The catalog also helps consultants adhere to LEED requirements, and water and wastewater specification industry standards.

The more than 80 automation and control specification categories outlined in the CRC help consultants choose solutions for:

o Energy-Efficiency

o Sustainability

o Safety

o Intelligent Motor Control

o Programmable Logic Controllers

o Integrated Architecture

o DCS/Process Automation Control

Many of the specifications are written in the style and format of the industry-preferred Construction Specifications Institute to make it quicker and easier for consultants to incorporate specification information into their own documents. This helps save the time and cost associated with rewriting specifications to industry standards.

"The consulting community is a critical group of companies that influence not only the water industry, but many others as well," says Tom Schaefer, manager of Industry Sales at Rockwell Automation. "Providing these engineers with updated tools and current data on the Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture system and Power Control enables them to correctly specify and engineer Rockwell Automation products into the owner's projects. The new CRC gives these engineers the necessary tools and provides engineers with the ability to receive automatic updates as changes and enhancements occur."

The Water and Wastewater Consultant Resource Catalog is a collection of water and wastewater-related product and solution literature, specifications and engineering software. The USB provides the unique feature of two easy-to-use interfaces, so consultants can analyze information either by product or by specific tool categories.
The tools interface helps educate consultants on product benefits using the water and wastewater solutions, brochures and knowledge categories. The procurement specification, configuration and selection tool categories help consultants choose solutions and assist in the intricacies of construction-specification writing.
The product interface provides the same information sorted by product type, such as motor control, motion control, condition sensing and programmable automation controllers.

Application and case studies provided with the CRC demonstrate the extensive experience of Rockwell Automation success in the water and wastewater industry. The service and support category highlights Rockwell Automation services, such as global solutions, asset management and training services. The catalog is free to consultants and uses current program updater software to automatically update the CRC with new information.
