New Antimony-Free QuickCast(TM) Investment Casting Patterns Now Available Exclusively at Express Pattern

Vernon Hills, IL - Express Pattern Inc., the leader in prototype and short run investment casting patterns, and one of the largest US rapid prototyping services bureaus, announces that they are the only rapid prototyping company offering antimony-free QuickCast investment casting patterns. Created specifically for investment casting applications, Express Pattern's QuickCast patterns, using DSM Somos' antimony-free 19120 ProtoCast AF resin have no antimony, are more accurate, produce significantly lower amounts of ash, generate less shrink, are more environmentally friendly and autoclavable.

For foundries, it means that normal shelling processes can be used, assemblies can be autoclaved, there is less chance of shell failure with solid sections, there is significantly less ash and the chance of antimony contamination is eliminated. Express Pattern conducted extensive laboratory and foundry testing comparing DSM Somos 11120 Watershed and 19120 ProtoCast AF resins on properties critical to investment casting patterns. The results (seen below) show that ProtoCast offers significant advantages over Watershed.

"We are very excited to be the first and, as of now, the only rapid prototyping company to offer this new antimony-free resin to our customers. Up to now we have been using DSM 11120 Watershed resin as our default resin. With the advent of the new 19120 ProtoCast AF resin, we can now offer customers a choice of resins. However, we anticipate that very soon, all of our customers will see the benefits of, and want to move to, this new, improved resin", enthuses Tom Mueller, Express Pattern co-founder.

Tom Mueller and Express Pattern partner Dave Flynn, leaders from the start and innovators in the growth of the stereolithography industry for nearly two decades, co-founded Express Pattern in 1999.
