Mouser-sponsored IndyCar Team Eyes Checkered Flag at Season Opener in Texas

June 2, 2020 - The 2020 NTT IndyCar Series looks to get back on track June 6 at Texas Motor Speedway, not far from Mouser Electronics' global headquarters in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Mouser and valued supplier Molex are sponsoring the No. 18 Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan team car for the 2020 season. This weekend's Genesys 300 contest will be different than past races, as practice, qualifying, and the race itself all take place on the same day, with no fans in attendance.

The revamped 2020 schedule delivers 14 races, down from the original 17-race schedule, which was modified due to COVID-19. Included in the new schedule are two consecutive doubleheader races, the 104th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on Aug. 23, and the season finale at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (Fla.) on Oct. 25.

"Though this season is different than anything we have seen before, excitement is still running high," said Todd McAtee, Mouser Electronics' Vice President, Americas Business Development. "We are proud to support Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan and wish the entire team good luck at this weekend's race in our home state."

"This is our 10th year teaming up with Mouser, and we couldn't be more excited to sponsor the No. 18 car," said Fred Bell, Vice President of Global Distribution at Molex. "We are ready to see IndyCar racing back on track."

Mouser and Molex first sponsored IndyCar racing in 2011 as a way to communicate their performance-driven business models and promote innovative technologies. The Mouser-sponsored car won the Indianapolis 500 in 2013.

After the race at Texas Motor Speedway, the series travels to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the GMR Grand Prix on July 4. To learn more, visit https://www.mouser.com/indy-racing/.
