Moisture Control Services' Brown Elected Executive Board President of the Society for Protective Coatings

THE SOCIETY FOR PROTECTIVE COATINGS

(September 15, 2010) - Munters Moisture Control Services (MCS) executive Russ Brown has been elected president of the executive board of the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC), a non-profit association dedicated to the protection and preservation of concrete, steel and other industrial and marine structures and surfaces through the use of high-performance industrial coatings.

The association's board of governors, which consists of 12 members who manage the organization, elected Brown to the position. He has served on the SSPC board of governors since 2003.

Brown is global business development manager for MCS, a division of Munters AB. MCS' global division offers complete services for water and fire damage restoration and remediation, and for temporary climate control in construction, industrial, surface preparation and coating, and preservation applications.

Munters AB, a publicly owned company, based in Stockholm, Sweden, announced earlier this summer an agreement to divest division MCS to Triton, a leading private equity firm. The divestiture is scheduled to take place later this year.

Brown develops and implements strategic growth plans to build the temporary humidity control segment for MCS. He also manages key national accounts, creates marketing programs, fosters employee growth and institutes educational programs for MCS staff. He is based in Munters' Indianapolis office.

Brown earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and is a native of Avon, Ind.

Munters is a sustaining member of SSPC with its original membership in 1992. SSPC is the leading source of information on surface preparation, coating selection, coating application, environmental regulations, and health and safety issues that affect the protective coatings industry.
