Milliken Chemical's Global Product Line Manager, Adam Watson, to be a Featured Speaker at 19th Annual Thermoforming Conference

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Aug. 31, 2010 - Milliken Chemical's Adam Watson, global product line manager, will be a featured speaker at the 19th annual Thermoforming Conference, held in Milwaukee, Wis., Sept. 18-20, 2010. Watson will speak on Sunday Sept. 19 at 1:40 p.m. about the environmental and cost concerns that have made polypropylene (PP) the material of choice for packaging and houseware applications. Watson will also discuss Milliken's new nucleating agent Hyperform® HPN-600ei, designed for extrusion and thermoforming applications, and offering improvement in stiffness-impact balance, aesthetics, and processing speed vs. competitive materials.
Watson is responsible for the strategic direction, business development, marketing and global communication of Milliken's nucleation and reinforcement technologies. He has held various engineering, product design, supply chain, sales and market development roles. Watson earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Clemson University.
Milliken Chemical offers a growing portfolio of additives for PP as well as other polyolefins. Hyperform HPN-600ei along with Milliken's Millad® NX8000 clarifier - another high-performance product that provides a dramatic reduction in haze enabling PP to deliver clarity approaching that of polycarbonate (PC) while avoiding many of its drawbacks - will be on display in their booth (#221) at the show. Applications on display will include packaging, housewares, storage containers and drinking cups.
