Mercury Computer Systems Provides In-depth Training for Programming the Cell BE Processor

Hands-On Sessions Enable Software Developers to Build and Migrate Compute- Intensive Applications to Breakthrough Cell Technology

CHELMSFORD, Mass., Feb. 16 - Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRCY) announced the availability of standard training classes to assist software developers with programming the Cell Broadband Engine (BE) processor. The interactive, entry-level course includes a brief overview of the Cell BE processor advantages, experience with a software development environment comprising open source and Mercury software tools, and in-depth, hands-on programming exercises tailored to a participant's skill level.

"The programming approach for the Cell BE processor is a different paradigm for many software developers," said Craig Lund, Chief Technology Officer, Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. "We are delighted to see how quickly the participants in our early training classes have caught on."

As the leading enabler of data-intensive applications, Mercury has more than 20 years' experience in programming multiprocessor-based computing solutions, and in providing the supporting software, hardware, and services. In the course, Mercury trainers leverage proven Mercury software tools that can now be used to program the entire family of Cell BE processor-based products resulting from Mercury's collaborations with IBM, including the "Turismo" system, the PowerBlock(TM) 200, and Cell BE processor-based blades available from both Mercury and IBM.

Mercury's standard training offerings are available on a regular classroom schedule or can be tailored to meet individual customer needs. Contact Mercury for schedule and pricing information. Prospective participants can try out a portion of the training during Mercury's webinar "Using MultiCore Framework Software to Harness the Power of the Cell BE Processor," to be held February 22, 2006 at 11 a.m. EST.
