MedeAnalytics Issues Accountable Care Organizations Technology Framework

Structure identifies key building blocks for ACOs

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 21, 2011 - MedeAnalytics, a leading provider of healthcare performance management solutions, issued today at the HIMSS11 Annual Conference & Exhibition its Accountable Care Organizations Technology Framework.

The framework enumerates and describes the technology components needed for both Medicare and commercial ACOs. It is based on public policy analysis, input from providers and payers currently developing ACOs, and extensive market research, including literature review and nationwide focus groups involving many payer and provider organizations which are leaders in the ACO area.

Ken Perez, the company's senior vice president of marketing, commented, "While much has been written about the philosophical underpinnings, goals, governance requirements, organizational models, economic theory and possible benefits of commercial and Medicare ACOs, relatively little has been said about the technology infrastructure that is required to establish and run an effective ACO. This framework provides a substantive starting point."
