MaxLite LED Products Recognized by Lighting for Tomorrow

WEST CALDWELL, N.J. - MaxLite was recognized with an Honorable Mention in the 2015 Lighting for Tomorrow competition for its LED Adjustable Downlight Retrofit with sunset-like dimming technology.

Winners of the awards were announced in a ceremony held during the American Lighting Association (ALA) Annual Conference on October 3, 2015 in Huntington Beach, CA. The Lighting for Tomorrow awards are organized by the ALA, the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

“We are honored to be recognized in this prestigious awards competition for the unique dimming qualities and directional capabilities of our latest LED downlight retrofit design,” said MaxLite Vice President of Product Management and Engineering Greg Galluccio. “MaxLite continues to focus on developing innovative products that bring our customers a more personalized lighting experience, as well as significant energy cost savings.”

MaxLite’s Adjustable Downlight Retrofit is an LED upgrade solution that provides endless lighting design possibilities for residential, retail and commercial interiors. Designed to fit standard five- and six-inch recessed housings, the retrofit swivels and tilts to create beautiful, custom directional lighting for wall art, sculptures, product displays and surface tops, such as counters or tables. The lens rotates up to 355 degrees, and tilts up to 30 degrees vertically, for limitless accent lighting possibilities, even in damp locations. The downlight retrofit features a sunset-like dimming effect that drops the color temperature from a warm white 2700K down to a more yellow-orange hued 1600K. Delivering 520 lumens, the retrofit has an output equivalent to that of a 40-watt BR30 lamp, but consumes just 10 watts of power. The LED Adjustable Downlight Retrofit with sunset dimming is slated for release in early 2016, and will be available for purchase through MaxLite sales representatives and authorized distributors.

MaxLite’s series of vintage LED filament lamps also received special recognition by Lighting For Tomorrow. The lamps feature linear LED filaments that resemble those of Edison-style incandescent bulbs. Designed for decorative residential, retail and hospitality applications, the line is offered in A19, ST18, T14, G30 and B11 styles that deliver warm, romantic light in 2200K. The family also includes a Silver Bowl A19 lamp designed for use in open pendants. Available in 2700K, the 6.5W lamp is topped with a half-chrome bowl that redirects light upward into the pendant's shade, preventing a displeasing glare on the surface below. All LED Filament Lamps are dimmable with standard incandescent dimmers.
