MAUSER Strengthens its Asian Presence

The MAUSER Group, one of the world's leaders in rigid industrial packaging, announced the acquisition of 71,75% of the shares of Pack Delta Public Company Ltd., based in Bangkok, Thailand. Minority partner in this friendly takeover is TIME Group, a MAUSER licensee and joint venture partner for IBCs in India.

Pack Delta is the market leader for industrial plastic packaging in Thailand and a long standing member of MIPI, MAUSER's global quality network for leading producers of industrial packaging. The company is listed on the stock exchange in Bangkok.

The partnership between MAUSER and TIME has a successful history. In 2004, the two companies started an Indian joint venture to produce IBCs for the local market. This cooperation is now extended to Thailand with the acquisition of Pack Delta, the MAUSER licensee in Thailand. MAUSER and TIME have incorporated a 51/49 joint venture to consummate the Pack Delta transaction which will also involve a tender offer for the outstanding shares.

The acquisition represents a further move in MAUSER's growth strategy. For the future, MAUSER and TIME plan to extend their partnership into other Asian countries. "Acquiring Pack Delta is an important step in our Asian strategy focusing on investments in the hotspots of economic activity", says Stefan Müller-Arends, CEO of the MAUSER Group. "Our global expansion strategy aims at strengthening our presence in emerging economies, opening up new markets for the development of our business."

The MAUSER Group currently employs a staff of about 2.500 and achieved a turnover of 784 million Euros in 2005 (pro-forma for all recent acquisitions) in nearly 50 worldwide locations.
