Makino's 2007 Die Mold Expo to Feature Speakers, Demonstrations and Exhibitors
September 25-27 at Makino's Auburn Hills Technology Center

Auburn Hills, Michigan - June 2007 - Makino's 2007 Die Mold Expo will be held September 25 through 27, 2007 at the Auburn Hills, Michigan Tech Center.

Makino's bi-annual Expo has become a major event for tool, die and mold makers interested in cutting-edge technologies and techniques to improve their competitiveness. The first day of the Expo will feature key industry leaders speaking about business improvement opportunities, including best-selling author Jeff Fox, IRN's Chief Economist Erich Merkel, IRN's VP Jud McKinley who will speak about his experience with customer diversification including the "new domestic" OEMs, and several other speakers.

On the second and third days Makino has organized a series of presentations on machining topics such as hardmilling and micromachining. In addition, there will be extensive machining demonstrations on sixteen machines under power and 20 select industry suppliers will also be exhibiting.

First Day Focus: Business Improvement
On the first day of the Expo, September 25, Makino will hold a Business Day Seminar in the Oakland Ballroom at the Marriott at Centerpoint, located at 3600 Centerpoint Pkway, Pontiac, Michigan, 48341. Featured Speakers at this event will include:

Jeffrey Fox - New York Times and Wall St. Journal best-selling author of nine books (including The Dollarization Discipline) and who specializes in marketing and sales effectiveness. He will provide an in-depth presentation on how die/mold manufacturers can identify the value they provide to their customers, communicate it effectively, and get paid for it, thereby overcoming the low cost competitor.

Erich Merkle - Chief Economist and Director of Forecasting of IRN , an internationally recognized expert in the automotive industry, whose forecasts are historically some of the most accurate in the country. He is frequently quoted on Bloomberg, CNBC, Automotive News and the Wall St. Journal. His presentations are not only informative, but insightful, and he will tell what the numbers really mean for tool, die and mold manufacturers.

Jud McKinley - Executive Vice President of IRN . Jud spent 17 years with a Tier-1 automotive supplier to the "new domestic" automotive OEM manufacturers. His presentation will be focused on customer diversification and a systematic approach to selling to foreign-owned manufacturers.

Jeff Mengel - Partner of Plante & Moran , a major accounting firm that specializes in the plastics and related industries. He will be presenting their industry benchmark report and survey results for the mold manufacturing industry.

Presentations and Machining Demos
Makino will offer several presentations in their Die/Mold Tech Center, presented by Makino engineers and suppliers.
