Lowry Computer Products is Authorized to Sell and Deploy Symbol Direct Part Marking Products
BRIGHTON, MI - [August 22, 2006] Lowry Computer Products, a leading manufacturer and integrator of wireless, RFID, bar code and data collection solutions, announced that it has joined only one other Symbol business partner in achieving authorization to sell and deploy Symbol's Direct Part Marking (DPM) products. DPM is a marking technology that permanently affixes a 2-dimensional DataMatrix code to a manufactured part or component. This technology is required for specified goods shipping to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), to comply with the DoD's Unique Identification (UID) program initiatives established for contractors.
Symbol Technologies, a worldwide leader in enterprise mobility, introduced the first wireless mobile computer designed to accurately read laser, peen marked, chemical etch and other types of direct part markings. As an authorized partner, Lowry can integrate Symbol's DPM mobile computers and readers into its solution set designed for suppliers to the DoD.
