Loos & Co., Inc. Signs License Agreement With Boeing To Manufacture And Sell Airplane Spare Parts


Pomfret, CT December 22, 2005 - Loos & Co., Inc. today announced they have entered into a data license with The Boeing Company allowing the company to use detail engineering design to obtain Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA) for replacement spare parts. The license will permit Loos to manufacture licensed PMA parts under Loos' FAA approved quality system and distribute directly to operators.
Loos has been licensed to manufacture wire rope flight control cable assemblies and sell to operators and other customers worldwide. Loos manufacturers over 5,000 different items that are used on 707, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767 and 777 Boeing commercial airplane models. Many of the same cable assemblies are also used in Boeing military aircraft.
Loos is the worlds leading manufacturer of wire rope and steel cable utilized in aircraft as flight controls. It has two locations. The company headquarters in Pomfret, CT manufactures stainless steel wire, wire rope and wire rope cable assemblies. The Naples, FL division manufacturers wire rope fittings, wire rope swaging equipment and wire rope cutting tools. Loos & Co., Inc. is a privately held company with over 250 employees.
