Linde to Highlight Equipment and Services Proven to Enhance Oil Exploration, Production and Distribution at URTeC Meeting in Texas

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Linde's broad range of services designed to enhance oil and gas exploration, production and distribution will be the main topics Linde experts will discuss at this year's Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC). The meeting will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, August 1-3.

Linde LLC's Oil Gas Services business unit supports oil and gas exploration and production throughout North America with carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen (N2) equipment, personnel, and services for well completion and stimulation. Among the technologies and services Linde engineers will be highlighting at its booth (#431) are:

The E-IOR of energized fluids for hydraulic fracturing

Linde's CO2 Huff `n Puff oil well stimulation unit

The Linde mobile gas clean-up unit (MGCU) to remove CO2 from early flowback natural gas

Expanded plant and pipeline services

E-IOR

"We'll be presenting case studies in unconventional reservoirs to show that, in well-designed hydraulic fracturing processes, energized fluids using carbon dioxide or nitrogen, can reduce costs and improve well performance to achieve a lower unit cost of production," said Robin Watts, Oil and Gas Technology Manager for Linde LLC. "Optimizing individual well treatments and scaling up to full field development ensures the best economics for any fracturing fluid. With energized solutions, optimizing hydraulic fracturing treatment design brings the added benefit of Enhanced Oil Recovery and Improved Oil Recovery – the E-I-O R of energized fluids."

Huff 'n Puff

Linde engineers will also demonstrate how the Linde CO2 Huff 'n Puff trailer-mounted pumping package is a proven single-well stimulation method that can dramatically increase production from depleted or low-pressure oil wells.

"Huff 'n Puff is extremely cost effective," Watts said. "Studies have shown CO2 Huff `n Puff can increase oil recovery, boost short-term production, and provide important information on injectivity and pressure communication with adjacent wells."

Mobile Gas Clean-up Unit (MGCU)

Linde's Mobile Gas Clean-up Unit is a field-deployable CO2 separation skid designed to be operated profitably during early flowback. It removes CO2 from natural gas during flowback to meet pipeline specifications and improves operator economics while meeting stringent emission standards.

Service Expansion

Linde Engineers will also be discussing the benefits of Linde's new facility in Baytown, Texas, which expands its plant turnaround, MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) and pipeline services capabilities to include the Gulf Coast region.

"With a secure supply of industrial gases from one of the country's largest air separation units, which Linde recently completed in La Porte, Texas, the Linde Plant and Pipeline Services team has raised the bar for turnkey services and responsiveness, especially those in challenging, off-road locations," said Brian Kubalik, Program Manager, Chemistry and Energy, Region Americas for Linde. The new facility complements Linde's  Marcellus /Utica capabilities with a district located in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania.
