Laser Industry Leader Teams With Illuminating Engineering Society for Learning Opportunity

April 23, 2019 - Little Rock Arkansas - The Little Rock section of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) will host Walter Burgess, VP of Engineering at Power Technology during a continuing education event on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. Mr. Burgess will give an educational presentation titled "Next level Illumination, beyond LEDs” at 12:00 pm at Today’s Office at 717 W. 7th Street in Little Rock.

While the continuing education credits are only for IES members, the public is invited and welcome to attend the presentation. The alignment between the IES and Power Technology, Inc. prompted this opportunity for collaboration.

"Illumination is so much more than LEDs and light bulbs. Lasers are making inroads into illumination markets like never before. I look forward to exploring those new laser applications with IES on Wednesday,” said Burgess.

The Little Rock-based section of the Illuminating Engineering Society is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to all aspects of the art and science of illumination. Lasers are coherent sources of light used for a broad range of applications from illumination to medical and scientific applications. Power Technology, Inc. has been manufacturing laser diode modules for 50 years. The industry and application overlap lead to a partnership to provide valuable information to IES membership and the public.

Power Technology is the designer and manufacturer of the Illumina Cinema Laser System which replaces Xenon lamps in projectors with RGB laser illumination.
