LANXESS Corporation's third-quarter U.S. sales (adjusted for portfolio changes and currency effects) increased around 7 percent in the third quarter of 2007 compared to the same period of last year.

Continued competitiveness of the U.S. chemical industry was emphasized last week at the LANXESS-hosted Chemical Industry Summit. LANXESS Corporation President and CEO Randy Dearth brought together chemical industry executives and policy makers to discuss major issues facing the industry.

Together the group explored legislative and regulatory initiatives for the chemical industry and successfully identified real solutions to issues including energy, security, climate change, and rail transportation.
