Koch-Glitsch Employees Achieve Injury-Free 2005

WICHITA, Kan. - Employees at Koch-Glitsch, LP worked all of 2005 with no injuries, a new company record.

"The employees at the Wichita manufacturing site are setting a new standard for workplace safety," said Bob DiFulgentiz, company president. "Their dedication and commitment is evident in this industry-leading performance."

Koch-Glitsch employees were honored today with a luncheon celebrating their injury-free year with no recordable injuries or those resulting in time away from work. In all, Koch-Glitsch employees have worked more than one million hours without an injury resulting in time away from work.

The group's 2003-2005 U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration recordable rate is 1.48, 86 percent lower than the industry average of 10 and lost-time incident rate is 0.27, 91 percent lower than the industry average of 3.1. The OSHA recordable rates are standard industrial safety performance measures that represent health and safety incidents per 200,000 work-hours, a unit of measure chosen by the agency because it approximates the annual work of 100 employees.

Last year, Koch-Glitsch earned Outstanding Safety Award from Gas Processors Suppliers Associate. In 2004, the company earned STAR status, the most prestigious designation under the OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program.

Koch-Glitsch designs and manufactures state-of-the-art mass transfer and mist elimination products for the chemical, petrochemical, refining, gas processing, pharmaceutical and specialty industries.
