Kirk Ward, Safety Director for ALL Family of Companies, Named Industry's Corporate Top Trainer by Crane Hot Line
December 2, 2010 - Kirk Ward, corporate safety director for the ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, has been named the 2010 Corporate Top Trainer by Crane Hot Line magazine. He was featured in an article in the November 2010 issue. Ward was nominated by Michael Liptak, president of the ALL Family of Companies, for positively affecting the entire corporate culture of the company. Ward is also the recipient of a $1,500 scholarship, which he will use to further his training program.
This is the third annual recognition of Top Trainers in both corporate and professional categories. Nominees represented crane rental companies and contractors as well as companies working in nuclear, space, petrochemical, and manufacturing industries. Nominations were made by individuals who had been trained by the candidate, by the trainer's supervisor, or by a colleague, and entries included an essay describing why the nominee should be considered.
Winners were chosen by the Crane Hot Line staff and by the 2009 Top Trainers by four criteria: their use of innovative or hands-on instruction; encouragement of peer or corporate accountability on the job; whether their training demonstrated evidence of success; and their overall positive impact on the industry.
In the nomination essay, Liptak quoted Ward as saying, "New skills gained with every training opportunity allow our employees to realize their full potential. We encourage ongoing training because the ripple effect of knowledge spreading is a powerful part of fulfilling our organization's commitment to excellence." Liptak adds, "We thank the judges for recognizing Kirk's efforts. Safety is one of the most valuable services we offer our customers, and it is a company culture that Kirk is largely responsible for creating."
