JPSA Announces China Distribution and Service Agreement with BOET

Hollis, New Hampshire, USA ¨C J P Sercel Associates (JPSA), a leading global supplier of UV laser technology and systems for materials processing, has entered into a partnering agreement with Beijing Opto-Electronics Technology Co. Ltd. (BOET). Under the terms of the agreement, BOET will sell and service JPSA laser systems in China, including the IX-300 ChromaDice UV laser system for semiconductor wafer processing, e.g., scribing and dicing in production volumes.
BOET will also sell and service JPSA systems such as the IX-150, an excimer laser system well suited to research institutes and universities due to its affordability and flexibility for process development. The Agreement became effective September 1, 2005. JPSA already has installed three UV laser systems in China.
In making the announcement, Jeffrey P. Sercel, President and CEO of JPSA, said, ¡°We are pleased to enter into this agreement with BOET, a recognized leader in the improvement and development of laser materials in China. BOET has been qualified to supply JPSA with certain high-quality parts, optics, and sub components as part of a mutually beneficial relationship with more components currently under evaluation.¡±
