Jotun Sponsors Major Charity Events in the Region Reinforcing its Corporate Social Commitment

Company pool resources with Al Noor Centre and Gulf for Good to raise funds for charity activities

Reinforcing its commitment to supporting the community and charitable organisations, Jotun Paints, one of the world's leading producers and suppliers of paints, has teamed up with two prominent charity events, Gulf For Good's Musandam Challenge and Al Noor Centre's Fun Fair Day, with the aim of mobilising funds for children with special needs. The charity tie-up is the first step in a heightened community relation's campaign the company is instigating throughout the region.

Al Noor Centre is a dedicated institution that provides comprehensive care for children with special needs run under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs. Passionately committed to helping children from their infancy to adulthood, Al Noor's goal focuses on integrating its students into society. Al Noor Training Centre opened its doors in 1981 and has been developing its training programme to ensure that the special children it caters to, receive quality and enriching experiences towards a more independent and functional life.

"We are pleased to support events in the community and feel that sponsoring activiites of the Al Noor and the Gulf for Good are vital to providing children with an environment to learn and excel while tapping their various potentials," said Eirik Kristensen, Regional Marketing Manager, Jotun Middle East. "Jotun has been operating successfully in the Middle East for over 30 years. Our support for these charity events is in line with the tenets of Jotun's corporate social policy, and adds to our continuing involvement in various pan-Gulf community projects, underscoring the company's commitment to the region's economic and social development. Our goal is to be admired as much for the tangible business successes we achieve as for the intangible goodwill and community trust we continually foster," he added.

Gulf for Good is a Dubai-based charity under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Previous fundraising expeditions have included trekking, cycling and kayaking adventures in Morocco, Egypt, India, Tanzania, Thailand, Nepal and Jordan as well as in the UAE itself. To date it has raised over 2 million Dirhams for local and international charities, through adventures in five countries involving over 200 participants of 30 nationalities aged between 16 to 63.

"Jotun's main inspiration to associate with the 'Gulf for Good' Musandam Challenge is to bring together people of all backgrounds to push their own limits whilst raising money for a good cause. This also underscores the company's global philosophy of contributing towards the development of communities," Kristensen concluded.

Jotun is a global group with 67 companies and 39 production facilities spread across five continents. The company develops, produces and sells cost-effective paints and coatings and provides customer service and technical support to residential, marine and industrial markets worldwide.
