Johnson Controls and NovaTech to Offer Combined Solutions to Industrial Customers

New Alliance Leverages Integration, Process Control, and Financial Strengths

MILWAUKEE - (Sept.1, 2005) - Johnson Controls Inc. (NYSE: JCI) and privately-held NovaTech, LLC, of Bethlehem, PA, have announced a joint marketing and sales alliance that will leverage the strengths of both companies to offer industrial and manufacturing customers a more complete suite of products and services, including financial offerings with guaranteed results.

"NovaTech has earned the respect of high-end industrial customers who appreciate the company's ability to provide excellence in process automation, including the integration of "best in class" hardware and the ability to collect, manipulate and display data from virtually anywhere in the process," according to Dave Love, director of the industrial market for Johnson Controls. "These offerings complement our high-performance energy management and environmental solutions."

"Working with Johnson Controls allows us to offer our customers innovative utility, environmental and energy management solutions that can be integrated with our process automation systems," said Volker Oakey, chairman of NovaTech. "We, and our customers, will also benefit from the financial strength and large, turn-key project capabilities of Johnson Controls."

Both companies currently serve industrial and manufacturing customers in a variety of markets, but there is not much overlap in terms of customers for their respective product offerings.

"The goal is to provide well-designed and integrated energy and infrastructure solutions that help customers operate their plants more efficiently and cost effectively, providing a more comprehensive solution than either company could provide independently," said Love.
