John Crane Academy Seminars Now Available Online

(Morton Grove, IL - April 12, 2006) - John Crane - the world's leading supplier of engineered sealing systems and associated products - has announced that the popular John Crane Academy seminars are now available online.

Founded in the early 1980s, the John Crane Academy is a unique industry resource responsible for the training and education of thousands of maintenance mechanics, rotating equipment engineers and related professionals. The Academy was founded to expand the knowledge and skill levels of customers interested in achieving maximum return on their mechanical seal investment.

"John Crane believes a thorough understanding of the principles and practices of sealing is essential to gaining maximum return on your investment in mechanical seals," said Marilyn Fischbach, Director of Training for John Crane. "The online training courses offer today's busy professionals the convenience of flexible training times based on an individual's schedule. Further, online offerings eliminate the need for costly travel and other related expenses incurred when attending offsite training courses.

This is just another way that John Crane Academy is reaching out to meet the needs of our customers.

Currently, the web-based course "Sealing Systems for Operators" is available online with several other courses now in development. This course, estimated at 10-hours, covers mechanical seal basics, the single seal, dual un-pressurized seal, dual pressurized seal and pre-start systems checks. Designed for maintenance personnel as well as plant operators, the class is also ideal for anyone that works with end face mechanical seals and that could benefit from a more thorough understanding of sealing systems and their operation.

Presented by the sealing experts at John Crane Inc., the seminar is available for a cost of $250 and once registered, the participant can enter and exit the program at their discretion. Tests at the end of each module allow the user to gauge their learning progress. Participants must answer 70 percent of the questions correctly in order to move forward to the next module. Those companies interested in registering a group of employees can assign their own training coordinator to monitor progress of the participants. To register, visit johncraneacademy.com.
