ITT Receives Rail Industry's Internationally-Recognized IRIS Certification

SANTA ANA, CA - March 9, 2009 - ITT Interconnect Solutions, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of connectors, interconnects, and cable assemblies, has received IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) certification for its operations based in Lainate, Italy. IRIS is a globally recognized certification that qualifies component manufacturers to work with railway equipment manufacturers, system integrators, assemblers, and their suppliers.
Established in 2005 by the Association of the European Railway Industries (UNIFE), IRIS was created to develop and implement a global system with uniform language, uniform assessment guidelines, and mutual acceptance of audits for the evaluation of companies supplying to the railway industry in order to create a high level of transparency throughout the supply chain.
"The IRIS certification is supported by four of the industry's major organizations, including Alstom Transport, Ansaldo Breda, Siemens Transportation and Bombardier Transportation," said Keith Teichmann, director of marketing for ITT Interconnect Solutions. "By registering for and receiving IRIS certification, ITT is better equipped to work with and serve major manufacturers in the railway sector, and provides an excellent opportunity for continued growth."
