Iridium Service Providers Sign up for Trade-Up Program

Participants Offer Rebates for North American Satellite Phone Users Switching to Iridium

BETHESDA, Md. - February 13, 2008 - Iridium® Satellite, the fastest-growing mobile satellite services (MSS) company, today announced that 15 of its service providers have signed up to participate in the Trade-Up to Iridium pricing incentive program. The participating service providers have agreed to offer rebates up to $700 for North American customers switching from Globalstar to Iridium.

"Since announcing this program in late January, the response from our service partners has been overwhelming," said Greg Ewert, executive vice president of Iridium Satellite. "This response clearly demonstrates the strong demand for reliable gap-free MSS in the marketplace, and the level of dissatisfaction with the recently disclosed deterioration of Globalstar's network performance for two-way voice communications."

To date, Iridium service providers enrolled in the Trade-Up to Iridium program include: Applied Satellite Technology (AST), General Dynamics C4 Systems, Global Satellite, Globe Wireless, IDL Corporation, Infosat, Marlink, Roadpost, Satcom Direct, SatCom Distribution, Sky Connect, Stratos, The MVS Group, Vizada and World Communication Center (WCC).

Through June 30, 2008, participating service partners will offer a rebate of up to $400 on a new Iridium 9505A satellite phone to customers turning in an existing Globalstar handset, as well as up to $300 in airtime credits when signing up for a qualified North American calling plan.

"The theme of our incentive promotion program is 'Reliability to the Rescue,' highlighting Iridium's unmatched record of reliable network quality," said Ewert. "Many satellite phone users are public safety and service organizations who rely on satellite links for mission-critical communications. They cannot afford missed connections and dropped calls. Our performance metrics show that our first-time connection rate for satellite calls is better than 99 percent. That's why we're the only MSS company with a Network Quality Guarantee, promising 100 percent satisfaction with our service."
