Invensys' Wonderware Achieves Gold Certified Partner Level in Microsoft Partner Program

LAKE FOREST, Calif., July 27, 2005 - Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys Systems Inc., today announced that it has achieved Gold Certified Partner level in the Microsoft Partner Program. The accomplishment reflects Invensys' continuing commitment to the Microsoft and Invensys alliance.

"Customers looking for partners that can bridge the gap between their business demands and technology capabilities are turning to trusted companies like Invensys to act as expert advisors for their long-term strategic technology plans," said Don Richardson, director of Microsoft's Manufacturing Industry Unit. "Microsoft Gold Certified Partners are experts with direct training and support from Microsoft, who can build positive customer experiences with our technologies. Today Microsoft recognizes Wonderware as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for demonstrating its expertise in providing customer satisfaction with Microsoft products and technology."

The Microsoft and Invensys alliance was established to combine Invensys' strengths in process and manufacturing applications and expertise in key industry segments with Microsoft's platform, technology and enterprise products. The alliance is designed to drive a new generation of Invensys solutions to provide manufacturers with real-time visibility into their plant environments and supply chains.

"The Microsoft Gold Certified level will continue to distinguish Invensys in the marketplace and strengthen its ability to significantly grow its business," said Mike Bradley, president of Invensys' Wonderware and ArchestrA businesses. "Invensys will gain even greater resources and benefits from Microsoft in the areas of technical expertise and sales and marketing activities. Achieving Microsoft Gold Certified Partner level was a key goal for Invensys as part of the alliance. The derived benefits of this level will further enhance an already exceptional relationship with Microsoft."

According to Microsoft, there are 5,000 Gold Certified Partners out of a total of 775,000 partners worldwide.

"Wonderware is among the less than 1 percent of Microsoft's partners to achieve Gold Certified Partner level, which is an outstanding achievement," Bradley said.

As a Gold Certified Partner, Wonderware has demonstrated expertise in Microsoft's ISV/Software Solutions category, which recognizes the skill and focus partners bring to a particular solution set and a partner's demonstrated ability to meet customer needs. Companies that obtain this level have a successful record of developing and marketing software based on Microsoft technologies, which Wonderware has done since its inception in 1987.

Wonderware also has achieved the Microsoft Certified Application Developer credential through the Microsoft Certified Professional program, which develops and validates the skills required to successfully implement a Microsoft product or technology as part of a business solution within an organization. The program provides IT professionals, developers and knowledge workers with extensive guidance and motivation to complete a thorough and relevant learning experience. Certification resources include assessments, right-sized online and classroom training, hands-on experience, technical books and skills validation through certification testing.
