Interroll expands in Asia - serving the Chinese, Korean and Japanese markets
Suzhou, China, September 2006. If the acquisition of Drum Motor specialist BDL was one of the most important corporate events to the global Interroll Group in the first half of 2006, then the relocation of its Chinese subsidiary to a much larger new facility will be highlighted as a key strategic move of the company in the second half of the year. Both steps emphasise the growth-driven strategy of Interroll, a worldwide leading supplier of conveyor components and subsystems for unit load handling applications.
Starting in mid-2002 with a business run by 4 people, Interroll (Suzhou) Co. Ltd. has grown to a sizable and profitable production facility employing 40 people today and expects midterm growth to over 100 employees. After relocating in August 2006 to new premises located within the expanding Suzhou Industrial Park, west of Shanghai, Interroll's wholly-owned Chinese subsidiary now operates out of a 2800 sq.m. factory, more than double its previous size. The new factory is close to the motorway linking Suzhou with Shanghai and other major cities and close to Suzhou's Jinji Lake.

Innovative conveyor solutions for growing markets
Interroll (Suzhou) Co. Ltd. supplies innovative conveyor modules, (belt curves, roller conveyors, belt conveyors, modules for pallet flow storage etc.), and key components, (drum motors, including stainless steel versions, DC powered rollers, gravity conveyor rollers etc.), for unit handling applications in growth markets including food processing and distribution, postal and courier services, third-party logistics providers, airport logistics, the automotive industry, supermarket check-stands, and other key markets.
Another example of how Interroll responds to the growing market need for state-of-the-art conveyor modules and subsystems with a fast return on investment is the Interroll Sorter, which keeps increasing its market share in Europe, the Near East, the Americas and South Africa. The sorter, designed for throughputs of up to 10,000 packaged units per hour, is a space-saving and flexible subsystem that quietly handles fast streams of goods at the central points of distribution centers in postal services, mail-order companies and courier/express/parcel delivery services. Interroll has already successfully introduced its sorters into the Japanese market and in Singapore.
