Hix Corporation, Of Pittsburg Kansas, Is Proud To Announce It Has Recently Received The Kansas Governor's Exporter Of The Year Finalist Award For 2006
HIX Corporation, of Pittsburg Kansas, is proud to announce it has recently received the Kansas Governor's Exporter of the Year Finalist Award for 2006.
According to the Kansas International Trade Coordinating Counsel, "for each of the past 17 years an exceptional Kansas company has been selected to receive the Governor's Exporter of the Year Award for creating jobs and contributing to the Kansas economy through excellence in conducting international trade. International business is vital to the Kansas economy. In 2004, Kansas companies exported over $4.9 billion in goods and services. One way to highlight the importance of exporting to our state is to recognize those companies that distinguish themselves as world class competitors."
The award was presented by Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to Bruce Huelat, President and CEO of HIX and Henri Co«me, International Sales Manager. The Governor stated, "...the award is presented in recognition of exceptional performance in developing export markets for the State of Kansas and further recognizes the company's creativity and innovation that has significantly contributed to the economic well-being of our state".
Founded in 1963, HIX is pleased to employ over 120 workers in its hometown of Pittsburg Kansas. HIX manufactures heat transfer machines and screenprinting equipment for textile applications, such as t-shirts. Along with heat transfer machines and screenprinting equipment, HIX also produces dryers for textile and other industrial applications, flock products, as well as pizza and tortilla presses.
HIX has nearly 100 distributors in over 70 countries, with one manufacturing plant in Pittsburg and warehouses in Belgium for its European customers. HIX exports almost one-third of all of its textile-related machinery and has seen exports steadily growing in the past three years.
