Granger Plastics Adds Shelter Dealer in North Alabama
Granger Plastics Company adds another Granger ISS dealer in tornado prone Alabama. L and A shelters is located in Athens, Alabama an area that suffered greatly in the April 27, 2011 tornados. Hundreds died and many more experienced the devastation these storms can cause including the community where our newest Alabama dealer resides.
Larry and Amanda Spatz, owners of L and A Shelters, were in the "mother of all tornadoes" as it is recounted on their website www.lashelters.net . He describes the experience of grabbing his family and running to the neighbor's house just in time to get into their in-ground tornado shelter. This experience began his search for the best available shelter for his family as well as provided an opportunity for a new business. His search ended with his decision to become a dealer of the Granger ISS. L and A Shelters is now a part of Granger's growing national network of dealers.

The devastation in the State of Alabama has prompted FEMA to offer a grant program covering every county in the state. These grants will be awarded to individuals to install tornado shelters as well as communities to build larger shelters. There are many requirements tornado shelter manufacturers must follow in order for their shelter to qualify for these grants. The Granger ISS meets all of these requirements and customers can apply for the individual grants which will cover up to $4000 of the cost. The Granger ISS exceeds FEMA 320 testing required to be a product eligible for rebates and grants available to the public through FEMA and the EMA.
