GoWare Becomes W3C Mobile Web Initiative Sponsor

LOS ANGELES, Mobile Entertainment Summit, May 23 / -- GoWare, Inc. today announced that it has become a sponsor of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Mobile Web Initiative (MWI), which was founded to make Web access from a mobile device as simple and convenient as Web access from the desktop. In addition, GoWare's co-founder and CTO Jason Thibeault will be involved directly in the leadership of the initiative through his seat on the MWI Steering Council.

GoWare is well-suited to join leading mobile industry companies, including Ericsson, HP, Nokia, NTT DoCoMo and Vodafone Group, to sponsor MWI (www.w3.org/Mobile). As developers of DoMo HomePage, a service that revolutionizes the mobile content experience by allowing users to create personalized mobile portals for convenient access of Web- and PC-based content through a single page on any mobile browser, GoWare is at the forefront of creating a positive Web experience for mobile customers.

"GoWare's primary mission is to create a positive content consumption and sharing experience on the mobile device by providing tools that empower users to take control of the Mobile Web," said Jason Thibeault, co-founder and CTO at GoWare, Inc. "Supporting, sponsoring, and working with W3C's Mobile Web Initiative provides us the forum to help shape the standards and policies that will make the mobile Web experience more convenient, useful and personal."

GoWare's flagship consumer product, DoMo HomePage, makes it easy for users to access a mashup of Web content (news, blogs, podcasts), PC files (documents, photos), and application data (email from Outlook, financial data from QuickBooks) from their mobile device. DoMo's open architecture lets third-party developers create plug-ins to applications and Web services, such as online banking, for even greater customization. In addition, DoMo includes functionality that allows the user to share their portal content -- both publicly through a DoMo HomePage Community site as well as privately via SMS and usernames/passwords. DoMo HomePage is available to the public as part of a free beta trial at www.domohomepage.com.
