LEXINGTON, Mass., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Internet application performance management leader Gomez, Inc., announced it had record sales in its second quarter ending June 30, fueled by greater than 50 new customers and growth in its existing customer relationships. The company achieved a year-over-year revenue increase of more than 50 percent, easily sustaining its profitable position.

Also in the second quarter, Gomez accelerated investment in its products, services and infrastructure to serve the needs of its expanding global customer base by:

o Launching major enhancements to the Gomez Performance Network (GPN);
o Opening an engineering and product development based operation in China;
o Hiring experienced executives to enhance its leadership team.

New Gomez customers include: One of the world's premier online dating services; the largest college-focused social networking community; a foremost European mobile phone provider; the US's third-largest department store chain; and a top 10, billion-dollar e-retailer. All chose Gomez to increase revenue, reduce costs and strengthen their brands through better management of their web application performance.

The company's momentum results in large part from customer preference for Gomez's low-risk software as a service (SaaS) business model, the most cost-effective way to improve web site monitoring and management.
