Gilbane Building Company Earns Two Project Awards for Rhode Island Veterans Home

Gilbane receives project awards from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and Engineering News-Record (ENR) New England Chapters for Rhode Island Veterans Administration Home

BRISTOL, R.I. (PRWEB) AUGUST 21, 2018 - Gilbane Building Company was recently honored with two project awards for the Rhode Island Veterans Administration Home. Gilbane received a Project Achievement Award in the projects over $50 million category from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), New England Chapter. Gilbane also received a Best Projects Award from Engineering News Record (ENR), New England in the Best Government Public Building category. The projects, located throughout the New England region, are selected by panels of local prominent industry professionals. Projects are evaluated on the ability of the teams to overcome challenges, project safety, innovation, customer satisfaction and overall management of quality, cost and schedule.

The Rhode Island Veterans Home provides skilled nursing and residential care to Rhode Island war veterans. Services include social, medical, nursing and rehabilitative care. The intent of this project was to provide the State of Rhode Island and its veteran residents with state-of-the-art living and a residential atmosphere within a comfortable community environment. The new 208-bed, 260,000 square foot home was designed by Brewster Thorton Group Architects of Rhode Island and SFCS of Virginia and encourages mobility, activity and socialization.
