Gilbane Building Company Celebrates Topping Out Ceremony at Columbus State Community College
Topping out ceremony reflects progress of the School of Hospitality Management & Culinary Arts project
COLUMBUS, OHIO (PRWEB) OCTOBER 24, 2018 - Gilbane Building Company recently celebrated a major milestone at the Columbus State Community College School of Management & Culinary Arts project in Columbus, Ohio. The topping out ceremony was attended by representatives from Columbus State Community College, Gilbane Building Company and our subcontractor partners. The event took place on the project site with a beam signing ceremony to commemorate the special occasion.
“This event is very exciting for the entire project team and for the college community here at Columbus State,” said Steve Mason, Gilbane Building Company Project Manager. “The topping out is a critical milestone and is a great opportunity to recognize the tremendous efforts of everyone involved in the project, including Columbus State Community College, DesignGroup and the subcontractors.”
Gilbane is providing construction management at-risk services for the construction of the new three-story, 77,000 SF signature building that will act as a symbolic front door to the college’s campus. The building will feature multi-purpose academic classrooms and labs, cooking and baking kitchens, faculty offices and 25,000 SF of general office space and conference rooms. The program will also include exterior dining areas, green space and a full-service restaurant.
Columbus State’s culinary program is ranked as one of the Top 20 in the United States, and this new space will allow the college to achieve their goal of doubling program enrollment. The project is expected to complete in the fall of 2019.
