Gefran Appoints Bart Polizotto as Automation Sales Manager for North America


Gefran creates new position, hires former Eurotherm / Barber Colman manager to support
increased demand for its control automation systems and products within plastics industry

Winchester, MA, July 17, 2006 - - - Gefran, a manufacturer of sensors and automation components for machine automation and process control, announces that Bart Polizotto has joined Gefran's US Subsidiary in Winchester, MA as Automation Sales Manager for North America. In this new position, Mr. Polizotto will manage sales of Gefran's automation control systems and components for machine control within plastics. This move is part of a plan to support Gefran's North American sales efforts following the increasing market penetration and growth in demand for its automation components product line.

Polizotto joins Gefran from Eurotherm / Barber-Colman, where he gained extensive experience in the field of control automation within the plastics industry. For the previous ten years Polizotto has been responsible for the global product management and marketing of the Barber-Colman System Products and the Action Instruments Signal Conditioners, where he developed new product requirements, business plans, and strategic alliances. Eurotherm is a key Business Group within Invensys plc, formed from Eurotherm Controls, Chessell Recorders, Continental Industries, ERO, Action Instruments and Barber-Colman.

In his new position as the North American Automation Sales Manager at Gefran, Polizotto will be responsible for all business activities related to the sales and marketing of the company's complete line of automation control products. His responsibilities will include developing new sales channels and strategic alliances, as well as product line planning and providing input for product development. This position will require working closely with Gefran's U.S. sales group and its corporate headquarters in Italy in an advisory role for the plastics industry. Polizotto will report to directly to Mark Caldwell, Vice President.
