GDS Continues to Expand with New Manufacturing & Sales Facility in China

Global Display Solutions Ltd. (GDS), expert in the design and manufacture of industrial displays, is opening a facility in China in early 2006. The opening of this latest facility marks the next stage of GDS's continued global restructuring, manufacturing and business development investment, in order to support its global accounts and growth in China.
The new facility, to be known as GDS (Suzhou), is situated in Wujain Fenhu Economic Development Zone, on the border of Shanghai. This location was chosen for the economic benefits to GDS, enabling the company to develop a cost-effective and very competitive operation that will benefit GDS's customers long-term. This new facility is part of GDS's continuing globalisation in order to provide customers with the best fit manufacturing services. The new Chinese facility will consist of a professional industrial monitor line with class 100 clean level. A Surface Mount Technology line will also be installed along with a clean room with up to 10K clean level.
The new site is geographically convenient for logistics and local support and the higher level of skilled labour available will mean an increase in quality for GDS's customers. The facility will be managed by Ocean Tseng , in order to ensure that GDS's services and quality levels continue at the high standard to which its customers have become accustomed.
Going forward, the new Chinese facility, along with the recently-opened facility in Romania, will provide GDS's customers with low cost region (LCR) manufacturing services. This will allow GDS to meet its clients' price and services expectations. Small batch manufacturing will also continue to be available locally for those customers who may require it. GDS's R&D Headquarters remains in Italy, working closely with GDS's global factories.
