Furnace Belt Co.

Mississauga, Ont. - Furnace Belt, a leader in wire conveyor belt and flat wire conveyor belt solutions, is proud to celebrate its 40th anniversary this year, with operations going as strong as ever.

Furnace Belt was started by two men, Joe Tatone and Tony Dicenso, back in 1972, armed only with three machines (a single strander, a wire straightener, and a wire crimper) and an acetylyne torch. The business has continued to be managed within the families for the entire four decades of its existence.

"In the beginning one of them would weave and assemble the wires and the other would weld the edges and take orders over the phone," said Dante Dicenso, currently a production manager at the company.

Shipping products to all continents except Antarctica, Furnace Belt services clients mostly in the sentering and heat-treating industries.

Furnace Belt also works with clients in food processing, and does general conveying as well. The company specializes in mesh belting and manufactures a wide range of flat wire belting as well.

Furnace Belt often deals with clients who have a large number of furnaces in their plant, and they rely on the Ontario-based company to keep their business running.

"Our service makes us better than competition," Dicenso said. "It's very common for us to have agreements with our customers where belts have been finished and stocked in our facility. This way, customers can receive them within 1-2 days after their release."

Furnace Belt has also earned high marks for being progressive, developing new ways of manufacturing spirals that save money for themselves and for their customers.

Their headquarters are in Mississauga, Ont., approximately 90 miles from the U.S. border.
