PALO ALTO, Calif. - Nov. 20, 2006 - PortAuthority Technologies, Inc.,(TM) the Authority in Information Leak Prevention (ILP), today announced that InfoWorld magazine, the leading integrated media brand for IT solutions management, has named four of its customers as winners of the distinguished InfoWorld 100 Awards, honoring the top IT projects of 2006 that demonstrate the most creative use of cutting-edge technologies to further business goals.

The annual InfoWorld 100 Awards program honors IT organizations with InfoWorld's highest awards. According to InfoWorld, to be considered, projects must stretch beyond the typical, off-the-shelf solution, and must use multiple technologies in innovative ways to serve well-defined business goals. Winners were formally announced in the Nov. 13 print edition of InfoWorld, as well online at: www.infoworld.com/reports/46SR06iw100.html .

PortAuthority Technologies customers in a variety of industry sectors were recognized with InfoWorld 100 Awards this year. Kuakini Health System and MedAvant Healthcare Solutions both won in the Healthcare industry for their "HIPAA Compliance with Information Leak Prevention" and "Content Filtering" projects, respectively. In the Education industry sector, a multipurpose university that attracts students from 46 states and 37 countries was recognized for its "Information Leak Prevention" project. Also, another PortAuthority customer, a worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications, won for its "Information Leak Prevention and Data Flow Authorization" project in the Computing/Technology industry sector.

"It's been said that fortune favors the bold," said Richard Gincel, InfoWorld Senior Editor. "The 2006 recipients of InfoWorld's highest honor, those who've best used technology to improve their business, would agree. Our honorees prove that innovation starts with daring to embrace change. For example, MedAvant increased its security by controlling outbound traffic and protecting confidential information by putting systems in place by PortAuthority. Also, the university deployed PortAuthority's solution to stop leaks of sensitive student data and confidential information over Web communications and networked printing in real time."
