FKI Logistex Forms Solutions Development Group

Global company focuses industry expertise to provide fast-track, single-source supply chain automation

(ST. LOUIS: Feb. 7, 2007) FKI Logistex® (www.fkilogistex.com), a global leader in integrated material handling solutions, announces the formation of the Solutions Development Group. FKI Logistex created the group to provide integrated supply chain solutions to its North American customers on an accelerated schedule. This FKI Logistex team operates as a systems integrator and specifies, installs and commissions all FKI Logistex and third-party products and services involved in supply chain solutions. The Solutions Development Group serves companies in a wide range of industries, including retail distribution, e-commerce, manufacturing, postal, parcel and airports.

The group is led by Tom Brady, a supply chain and logistics expert with more than twenty years' experience. Drawing on their knowledge of supply chain best practices, systems integration and material handling technologies, the FKI Logistex Solutions Development Group applies critical operations, systems and engineering resources to deliver innovative yet practical solutions for each client's unique business issues. These solutions address issues such as flow-path realignment, global sourcing, process and network re-engineering, and supply chain automation.

The FKI Logistex Solutions Development Group engages with customers at the beginning of a project to analyze business data, supply chain trends and investment objectives. Using the broad range of proven FKI Logistex material handling technologies and equipment, as well as third-party products, FKI Logistex advisors create a single-source design, manufacturing and implementation solution that eliminates the need for a third-party contractor. The process enables companies to move more quickly from planning to implementation, saving an estimated three to six months of project lead time compared to traditional project delivery methods.

"The ability to respond quickly to changing supply chain pressures is critical in today's global economy," said Steve Ackerman, president, FKI Logistex North America. "The Solutions Development Group allows us to greatly compress the timeline typically required for tailoring innovative integrated material handling solutions. Now, even companies with limited technical resources can take advantage of our expertise to quickly gain a competitive edge."
