Expanding Manufacturing Operations And Creating Jobs For Wellsville And Allegany County

ALSTOM Power Inc., Air Preheater Company headquartered in Wellsville, NY, part of the Energy and Environment Systems Group within ALSTOM Power, will be embarking upon an expansion project to build an additional 44,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space at its Andover Road facility. The expansion project is a result of a solid business plan and increased orders for the company's product lines, which include heat recovery and various coal and mineral grinding technologies. The investment in the Wellsville facility will include new state-of-the-art machinery so that the company can maintain and increase its global competitive edge with regard to technology, welding and machinery. Renovations of existing buildings to increase efficiencies are also planned.
This multi-million dollar investment (more than 15 million dollars) demonstrates confidence in and support for the Air Preheater Company and corresponds to ALSTOM's Clean Power Strategy in the USA and worldwide.

In order to meet customer's orders, Air Preheater will be creating more than 75 new jobs in Wellsville including Welders, Machinists, Pre-fab Specialists and various Supervisory and Office positions. "We are excited about our backlog of orders and future upcoming orders. This workload will maximize our manufacturing facilities and ensure that our employees have continuous work in the upcoming years," said Mr. Glenn Mattison - Vice President of Manufacturing - USA.
The decision to expand its Wellsville operations came after months of planning with multiple locations under consideration. We wish to thank New York Empire State Development and the Allegany County Industrial Development Agency for their efforts to maintain and grow the Wellsville workforce.
