ETS Supplies to European Shrek The Musical Tour
FREMONT, California – ETS, the Silicon Valley-based designer and manufacturer of baluns, balun panels, and related audio/video devices, announces a new collaboration with the touring company producing an extended European tour of “Shrek—The Musical.” The Broadway touring production is incorporating for the first time the innovative ETS SDS887 Video Distribution System.
Company CEO Trudy Andresen announced that sales of the hub-type products, which have been thoroughly and rigorously tested, are brisk. “This fall theater season, when newly-mounted productions are typically premiered, is turning out to be a record in terms of sales for us at ETS.”

Responding largely to the suggestions of ETS East Coast representative Shannon Slaton, the company designed a new Distribution Hub that balances the four input signals, distributes it on UTP cable, and then converts the signal back to each of up to 32 monitors. The versatile hub can handle NTSC, PAL, SECAM, or CCTV signals, converting to and from UTP cable by using the SDS888 Video + Power and the SDS889 Quad Video Balun. With the exception of the SDS887, these are all passive devices, so no external power is required.
Shannon Slaton adds, “For the safety and cueing of the show, Broadway cast and crew I work with need to monitor on-stage action on multiple screens. The SDS887 has up to 32 distribution outputs and 4 video cameras sending signals on CAT5 cable. In short, it’s exactly what theater professionals wanted, and the fall season orders are streaming in.”
The system is 1U rack-mountable, Foresight™ Quad Video Balun compatible, and USA-made.
