SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., Aug. 8 / -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (AMEX:ETC) ("ETC" or the "Company") BioMedical Division announced today it has been awarded a contract by a hospital in Michigan for two BARA-MED®XD Monoplace Hyperbaric Chambers. In obtaining this contract, ETC again worked closely with the hospital to help ensure that the hyperbaric chamber installation met requirements for operational efficiency, patient comfort, and the latest safety standards for healthcare facilities.

The BARA-MED®XD is the industry's most technically advanced chamber, featuring Windows®-based computer control software, automatic treatment printout and SMOOTH-RIDE(TM) compression/decompression protocol. ETC's BioMedical Systems Group strives to keep its equipment and customers at the forefront of hyperbaric medicine. As a consequence, in addition to their regular use in clinical treatments at medical facilities around the world, ETC hyperbaric chambers are routinely involved in research on new indications for which Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) holds promise.

Gene Davis, President of ETC's BioMedical Division, commented, "We are pleased to add this client to our list of satisfied customers. ETC was selected, in large part, due to our technological innovations in the area of control system technology."

ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers.
