Econolite Adds RTMS® to Its North American Product Line

RTMS agreement further expands 20-year Econolite and ISS product development partnership

Anaheim, Calif., December 22, 2011 - Econolite today announced that it has modified its agreement with Image Sensing Systems, Inc. (ISS) (NASDAQ: ISNS) to include the RTMS® radar product line to its exclusive North American distribution beginning in 2012. This further expands the successful 20-year product development partnership, which encompasses the full line of Autoscope® products.

The RTMS agreement builds upon the manufacturing and sales expertise of Econolite and the technology development expertise of ISS to deliver innovative, non-intrusive detection solutions to the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) industry. "The addition of the RTMS line will be a natural fit for us since it is a complementary technology to the Autoscope line of video detection solutions," said Econolite Group President and Chief Operating Officer David St. Amant. "Leveraging our proven product development processes refined over 20 years with ISS, allows us to provide the transportation management industry with the enhanced ITS capabilities of advanced radar detection applications."

Some of the sales and sales support personnel from ISS will be transitioned to direct employment with the Econolite Group. As with Autoscope, ISS will retain all intellectual property rights and both companies will continue to collaborate on the research and development for Autoscope and RTMS.

The RTMS (Remote Traffic Microwave Sensor) G4 is a roadside radar detection technology that is easy and safe to install without traffic disruptions or lane closures. The G4 combines high-resolution radar, with options for contact closures, serial communications, wireless communications, and Ethernet communications with an IP camera to view traffic scenes, all within a single enclosure. The G4 offers convenient Bluetooth communications for setup, calibration and data access, allowing technicians to connect from their service vehicle at the roadside. Its sleek, cabinet-free detection station is simple to integrate into any traffic management system, including comprehensive ITS programs. RTMS G4 provides additional transportation management and data capabilities for up to 12 detection zones, as well as replacing multiple loop detectors and the attendant controller.
