Dynamics Research Corporation Awarded $1.4 Million Contract for Department of Agriculture Work

Effort Aimed At Redesign of Agriculture Quarantine Activity System

ANDOVER, Mass., July 9, 2009 -- Dynamics Research Corporation (Nasdaq:DRCO), a leading provider of innovative management consulting, engineering, technology and information technology services and solutions to federal and state governments, today announced that it was awarded a $1.4 million sub-contract from QinetiQ North America to support the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). Under the terms of the sub-contract, which has a one-year base performance period and two one-year options DRC will provide recommendations for the redesign of the Agriculture Quarantine Activity System (AQAS).

APHIS' mission is to protect and promote U.S. agricultural health by defending animal and plant resources from agricultural pests and diseases. DRC will work with QinetiQ North America to redesign the AQAS to improve the workflow, data sharing and data analysis of the APHIS Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) program. The PPQ program provides a vital link to safeguard agriculture and natural resources from the risks of animal and plant pests and noxious weeds.

"Repetitive data entry and redundancy across disparate programs within the AQAS necessitated an improvement to the current business processes and workflow used by the Department of Agriculture," said Jim Regan, DRC's chairman and chief executive officer. "DRC will provide APHIS with a functional redesign of the AQAS that will improve organizational effectiveness and process efficiency."

The goal of reengineering the AQAS is to deliver time- and cost-savings as well as a sophisticated data collection and management system in a single environment. QinetiQ partnered with DRC recognizing the company's strengths in program support, policy, program assessment and process reengineering work and its extensive functional knowledge of the APHIS operating environment.
