Duke Energy Selects LODESTAR for Meter Data Management

Peabody, Massachusetts - October 26, 2006 - LODESTAR Corporation announced today that Duke Energy has licensed LODESTAR® Meter Data Management(TM) on an enterprise-wide basis. A combined team of Duke Energy and LODESTAR professionals has begun to implement the system, which will manage all meter data across each of the Duke Energy service territories. Duke Energy currently serves more than 4.3 million electric customers in North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, and more than 500,000 natural gas customers in Kentucky and Ohio.
