John Freres Leads Team Comprised of Networking, Convergence and Security Technology Experts
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Dimension Data, a $2.7 billion global IT solutions and services provider, today announced its expansion in the Midwest with the opening of an office in Schaumburg, Illinois. The newly formed team, comprised of networking, convergence and security experts, augments Dimension Data's North American presence with a foothold in one of the nation's most important commercial centers.
John Freres joins Dimension Data as area vice president, where he will focus on business development and operations. Freres was formerly co-founder and president of N2N Solutions, a Cisco Systems Gold Certified Partner. He is a thought leader in the industry and serves on the editorial board of VARBusiness magazine, the advisory board of Computer Reseller News (CRN) magazine, and Cisco's Executive Advisory Board.
Chris Ellerman also joins Dimension Data's Chicago office as the national practice director for security. Ellerman was a co-founder of N2N Solutions and developed its security practice in 1997. He also brings a track record of achieving professional services growth both in terms of revenue and gross profit.

The Chicago team, which includes sales, presales, inside sales, and delivery, brings extensive expertise to Dimension Data. In addition, members of this team have deep experience in IP telephony -- predating Cisco's acquisition of Selsius, which makes them among the first to implement IP telephony in the country.
