Dick Hanzel, Top Value Fabrics Co-Founder, Dies

CARMEL, Indiana (February 26, 2018) - Richard (Dick) Hanzel, Co-Founder of Top Value Fabrics, died Saturday, February 17, 2018. Dick got his start in the textile industry in 1968 when he joined Hoosier Tarpaulin & Canvas Goods Co. in Indianapolis, where he held various leadership positions during his 6-year tenure with the company. In 1974 he left Hoosier Tarpaulin to found Top Value Fabrics with Dick Leventhal, then became the sole owner in 2001. Dick sold TVF to its employees through an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) in 2010, and retired from the Board of Directors in 2014. TVF was Dick's primary life's work and was his pride and joy. He led the company with tremendous passion and dedication and his legacy lives on through TVF's team.
